Kitchen Cabinets Makeover Ideas

PART #1

A good and comfortable kitchen should be able to accommodate the needs of the homeowners. Therefore, it will be important that we design the space to accommodate wheelchair.

First of all, the flooring design should not have stairs. Even we have to avoid building flooring with one level up.

Besides, the kitchen countertops should be measured to follow the height of wheelchairs. All of cabinets and even the stoves positions should be reachable from wheelchair users’ positions.

PART #2

Maybe The before pic is much better than the newer cheap ass design. Funny how each person has their own unique perspective. Seeing the open pipes reminds me of the State psych wards in Massachusetts.

PART #3
To maximize the space in our small kitchen, we have to use drawers instead of cabinet with doors. Besides saving spaces, drawers are more efficient since we do not have to look into the cabinets since the drawers will come to us.

PART #4

In cabinet without drawers, the organization will be complicated. Meanwhile, smaller drawers will be able to storage a more detail stuff. We can divide small tools and store them neatly inside the drawers. Ergonomic kitchen should relate human body and the objects in the kitchen.

PART #5

The spaces that we use to work in the kitchen should be measured well so we can optimize our movement.

PART #6
The furniture, kitchen storage systems, all positions and electronic devices should be managed well. Besides, we have to play anything just in the precise position so our kitchen will not be harmful for our overall health conditions.

PART #7

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN AMAZING CHICK-FIL-A SANDWICH, AT HOME!

This is one of those recipes that cause my husband to sing my praises!  It’s a true winner.  Serve copycat Chick-fil-A with french fries, a Side salad, a Fresh fruit bowl, or some homemade Potato Salad.
If you’re familiar with Chick-fil-A you will know that fans of this fast food chain are passionate!  So many people, my husband Jeff included, are completely fanatical about their chicken sandwiches! We love them so much that I make this copycat version whenever we get a craving.

I found that the key to getting an extra crispy and delicious coating on the chicken is double-dipping. That’s right, “double dipping” in this instance is allowed and encouraged! You’ll see what I mean when you read the recipe.

I hope you all enjoy this tasty fried sandwich as much as we did.  And, the homemade Chick-fil-A sauce we smothered all over it is a must.  That stuff is out of this world!

HERE’S HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN AMAZING CHICK-FIL-A SANDWICH, AT HOME!

1. Marinate the chicken. Place chicken breast halves in pickle juice/water marinade, in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
2. Combine dry ingredients. Combine flour, powdered sugar, paprika, black pepper, chili powder, salt, and baking powder.
3. Make egg wash. In another bowl mix the milk, and egg.
A bowl with chicken in egg and milk, next to a sheet pan with the chicken dipped in flour.
4. Coat the chicken: Dip the marinated chicken into the egg mixture, and then coat in the flour breading mixture. Then repeat this step and dip that same chicken tender back into the egg mixture and then back into the flour again! Yep, this double dipping is how we’re making a super yummy, crispy sandwich.
5. Pan Fry. Place chicken in hot oil in a sauce pan and fry for 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove to paper towel to dry.
6. Assemble Sandwich. Toast the sandwich buns. Grab the Chick-fil-A sauce and smooth it on both sides of the buns. Top with lettuce, cheese, and crispy chicken! Enjoy!

HOMEMADE CHICK-FIL-A SAUCE:

All you need to make homemade Chick-fil-A sauce is:
  • Mayonnaise
  • Dijon mustard
  • Yellow mustard
  • Honey
  • BBQ sauce
  • Garlic powder
  • Paprika
  • Lemon juice
A small bowl with ingredients for homemade Chick-Fil-A sauce
Make the Chick-fil-A sauce by combining all ingredients in a bowl. Mix well and set aside.

AIR FRYER CHICK-FIL-A SANDWICH:

Preheat fryer to 370ºF. Grease the inside basket/rack of the air fryer and place two coated chicken breasts in the air fryer.  Lightly spray the top of the chicken.  Cook the chicken for 11-13 minutes, flipping halfway through cook time.  Assemble sandwich as instructed below.

BAKED CHICK-FIL-A SANDWICH:

Preheat oven to 450ºF.  Place a wire cooling rack on top of a baking sheet.  Place your coated chicken breasts on the wire rack and spray both sides lightly with olive oil. Bake the chicken for 12 minutes, flip and bake for another 15 minutes or until it’s cooked through.

FOR A SPICY CHICK-FIL-A CHICKEN SANDWICH:

We love spicy chicken at our house!  If you’d like to add a little heat to your chicken sandwich, add 1-2 teaspoons of cayenne pepper to the flour mixture when making the breading.  I like to coat my kids sandwiches in the flour first, then add the cayenne for spice, and make mine and my husbands.

BEST Chicken and Spinach in Creamy Paprika Sauce

I also love the delicious paprika sauce! It is so creamy and buttery, with just a mild tang from the fresh lemon juice. You can make this chicken and spinach recipe on a weeknight right on your stove top!

EASY CHICKEN RECIPE

I like to use thin chicken breasts in this easy chicken recipe. Or, if my chicken is too thick, I usually halve them horizontally. I love working with thin chicken fillets. And I made a number of thin chicken breasts recipes, such as this Low Carb Chicken. Try it too!

Make sure to season your chicken very generously. I always use sea salt, pepper and paprika as my spices. Then I sauté my chicken with butter until golden brown. So simple!

PAPRIKA FLAVORED CREAMY SAUCE

This version of paprika flavored creamy sauce is my absolute favorite, I have been making it for a couple of years now. Maybe more. I love that it’s a colorful sauce but it’s also really filling, and welcoming on a cold day. My creamy sauce for chicken is incredibly simple to make using heavy cream, wine and stock. I also sautéed garlic and added juice of a fresh lemon and of course paprika. The great thing about this sauce is that you can also use any kind of vegetables, such as spinach if that’s what you have on hand!
I use flour to thicken the sauce a bit, but it can be omitted if you are gluten free. Chicken and spinach go very well together with the paprika flavor here. I love it!

WHAT WINE DO YOU USE IN THIS PAPRIKA CHICKEN RECIPE?

When I made paprika chicken, I used Pino Grigio. It’s a pretty good wine. However, any dry white wine that you like can be used. When we talk good wines, I also think about Chardonnay or Riesling. All these are great choices. They will produce an excellent flavor for the chicken sauce.
When cooking with wine, you should never use “cooking wine”. Cooking wine is loaded with sodium and is not tasty at all. But cooking with a regular drinking wine will always give you a better tasting dish.Chicken and Spinach in Creamy Paprika Sauce

WHAT CAN I SUBSTITUTE FOR WINE

  • White Wine Vinegar. This is an ideal substitute for dry white wine. Made from white wine, it has many of the same flavor characteristics, minus the alcohol. Use 1/4 cup vinegar + 1/4 cup chicken stock to substitute for wine. This is my favorite substitute!
  • Rice Vinegar works too in the same proportion as White Wine Vinegar.
  • I do not recommend Apple Cider Vinegar because of its flavor.
  • Chicken or vegetable stock. You can substitute stock for white wine entirely if you are sensitive to vinegars.
  • Lemon. Because we are already using lemon, adding slightly more would compensate for the loss of flavor from wine. So simple!

WHAT KIND OF SKILLET SHOULD I USE

Make sure to use a good heavy skillet here, such as cast iron. It helps to have a large one too. I used 12 inch Lodge Pro-Logic Seasoned Cast Iron Skillet in this paprika chicken recipe. It’s well designed, has a helper handle and sloped sides. Overall, it’s a very sleek looking for cast iron! With so much room!
I do have other cast iron skillets, but prefer this one due to its size. It’s very large with even more space due to its sloped sides. Besides it never sticks or leaves weird black dots on meat like other cast iron skillets do. And it’s one of my most used kitchen tools!

  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika (for seasoning chicken)
  • 1/4 tsp Salt and Pepper (each for seasoning chicken)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

Creamy Paprika Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp flour (sifted)
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (sodium free)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice (juice of squeezed lemon)
  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tsp paprika

Instructions

  • Cooking Chicken: Season the chicken with salt, pepper and paprika, rubbing it evenly over both sides.
  • Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet (I used cast iron skillet) over medium high heat and cook on the first side for about 3 minutes. Flip, and turn the heat down to medium and cook for another three minutes. Remove and set chicken aside on separate plate.
  • Making Creamy Sauce: Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in the now empty skillet. Add garlic and cook stirring frequently about 2 minutes. Add flour using a sifter until well mixed. Add wine next and cook for 1-2 minutes to allow alcohol to evaporate.
  • Stir in chicken broth, heavy cream and lemon juice. Add salt and paprika. Mix well. Simmer for 2 minutes. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning (if necessary) at this point.
  • Spinach: Add in the spinach and cook for additional 2 minutes until the spinach has wilted.
  • Adding Chicken Back: Return the chicken to the skillet and cook covered for 2-3 minutes if your chicken breasts are thin; or for 5-7 minutes, if they are thick.
  • Serve immediately.
